My name is Ryan
Hartswick and I am a sophomore at San Francisco State University. Music was
never a part of my life until I went to my first concert with a group of my
friends. The sheer bliss I got from dancing and singing along with all the
people around me lead to almost a sort of awakening. I went from never
listening to music to practically having my life revolved around it. As much as
I love all kinds of music I grew a particular interest for the less mainstream
kind which I recognize as Indie music. I would be honored if you’d join me in
listening to these bands and busting out your craziest dance moves!
Where to Start?
You all should check
every week to see my new blog post! I always encourage interacting with me by
leaving a comment on any of my posts. Whether you love a specific band I talk
about or you hate them, let me know! I don’t write these blog posts for myself,
but for all you readers out there who are interested in what I have to say.
Why read my blog and trust my musical expertise?
I was born in Los
Angeles, California in the San Fernando Valley and remained there until my
college years in San Francisco. My senior year of high school was a big change
for me as I was heavily introduced to music by my friends. After my friend
Jordan sold me his acoustic guitar I started playing every single day.
Listening to music is great, but being able to apply it to instruments and
cover songs is one of the best feelings. Three of my friends and I also formed
a band called Yesterday’s Sandwich and we have actually written some of our own
music! If we ever record music I will post it on this blog.
